Traditional In Worship, Contemporary in Thought, Embracing in Fellowship
Welcome from our church! Our prayer is that you experience the love of God and His power as you participate in our fellowship.
This is a brief introduction to our church.
If we can do anything to assist you in your walk with Christ or if you would like to speak with someone about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, please let us know. As United Methodists,
we offer “open doors, open minds, and open hearts”.
E-mail address: senoiaunitedmeth@bellsouth.net MUSIC MINISTRIES:
The Chancel Choir: The church's Chancel Choir leads the congregation in worship each Sunday, providing quality choral music and varied musical meditations in coordination with the theme of worship. ADULT MINISTRIES: United Methodist Women: This creative and supportive fellowship of women is very active in virtually all aspects of our church life. We reach out to help those in need in our church, as well as helping to meet needs beyond our local church. Except during the summer, we meet on the fourth Monday nightof the month at 7:00 PM in the church parlor (located in the front of the sanctuary). Adult Ministry: The MY (Mature Years) Club: Is a group sponsored by our church that meets monthly with planned activities and trips to various places. Others in the community are invited to participate. Women’s Prayer Breakfast: We join with women from all over the community for a monthly prayer breakfast held at 9:30 AM on the second Saturday of each month at the Senoia Masonic Lodge. We enjoy fellowship, a devotional speaker, and prayer together. United Methodist Men: This men’s group is one of the newer areas of ministry in our church. They strive to better serve our church and the community through their combined focus. The UMM have a breakfast meeting on the last Saturday of each month except during the summer. CHILDREN / YOUTH MINISTRIES:Young people are an important part of Senoia UMC! Here are some of our activities: SUM Kids: Senoia United Methodist Kids is a fellowship group for 1st – 5th grade children who enjoy Bible stories, games, crafts, and fun with our church family. Vacation Bible School: Our annual VBS is held during the summer. The kids from our church and the surrounding area learn about the wonders of the Bible and have a great time together. Acolyte Program: Children serve as acolytes by bringing in the light of Christ to our services and assisting the pastor in serving communion. The young people are trained and serve on a rotating basis. Scouting Ministry: Our church sponsors two local Boy Scout troops. The Boy Scouts meet weekly during the school year. UMYF: Our United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) group is for grades 6-12. Although more outings are planned for the youth during the summer months when they are out of school, other opportunities are available throughout the year. SUNDAY SCHOOL: We believe in the importance of Christian education and emphasize it in our church. Classes for Bible-based learning are offered each Sunday morning at 9:45 AM for all age levels, children though adults. Other opportunities for Bible study at alternative times are offered throughout the year. WORSHIP SERVICES: Our traditional style worship services at 10:55 AM each Sunday morning provide a meaningful experience. Each service’s theme is coordinated with the calendar of the United Methodist Church. The beauty of our sanctuary sets the mood for our Christ-centered celebrations of joy and love. The great truths of God’s Word - the Bible - proclaimed in word and song, provide inspiration and strength for our daily living. SEASONAL SERVICES: We offer worship opportunities during special seasons of the year. We offer a Homecoming celebration on the first Sunday in May, and two Christmas Eve Candle lighting Services. Other special services are planned during the year. WEDNESDAY NIGHT SUPPERS: Between Labor Day and the end of the school year, we provide a wonderful meal in our Fellowship Hall each Wednesday night at 6:00 PM. The cost is only $5.00 per adult; $3.00 for those under 12. In addition to the food, we enjoy this time of fellowship with our extended church family.
